http://github.com/ recently switched from the old style
<a name
HTML anchors to the modernid
tag.The problem is that they do it via javascript, which means any linkcheckers now fail to find the anchors unless they support javascript.
Any suggestions to how to communicate this problem to github as they probably didn't consider this need when doing the redesign.
For example, consider this URL: https://github.com/microsoft/DeepSpeed/tree/master/blogs/deepspeed-ulysses#significant-communication-volume-reduction
The
significant-communication-volume-reduction
id doesn't exist if you search the source code of the page, but is served via javascript. The original discussion is here: linkchecker/linkchecker#816
Thanks.
