At work we happen to have quite active monorepo, and I also voluntarily use security key-backed SSH key for my work GH account. Recently I learned about
git maintenance
, and as it stands, I'm asked on hourly basis to tap my key. I find it mildly distracting and kind of defeating the purpose of having prefetch cronjobs in the first place. For now I'm considering to switch to plain password SSH key.I understand the choice to require tap on fetches, but I think there might be some overlap between org size, whether org works in monorepo, and org forcing security keys onto employees. Perhaps not and then it's a non issue, and nobody should use security keys 😃
