13:03 <sfan5> could it be that libmpv doesn't send property updates if a property turns unavailable?
13:03 <sfan5> I observe "metadata/by-key/Artist" with MPV_FORMAT_STRING and it seems that there's no notification if you change to a file that doesn't have this metadata
13:04 <sfan5> would sort of make sense but also very inconvenient
