Issue:
The current research extends its focus on genuinely quantum sources of time-correlated or non-Markovian noise arising from coherent interactions with the environment. Notably, nearby quantum-coherent two-level fluctuators and residual nuclear spins are identified as potential rich sources of time-correlated noise in spin qubit devices. However, existing characterization methods may not fully account for these quantum-coherent sources of non-Markovian noise.

Request:
This feature request proposes an extension of the research to include improved characterization methods that specifically address time-correlated noise originating from quantum-coherent interactions. Investigating the impact of nearby quantum-coherent two-level fluctuators and residual nuclear spins, which can serve as significant sources of non-Markovian noise, is essential for a comprehensive understanding of solid-state quantum devices. This extension would contribute to the validation and optimization of the operation of such devices.

Benefits:

Enhanced Validation: Inclusion of genuinely quantum sources of noise ensures a more thorough validation of the operation of solid-state quantum devices.
Optimized Device Performance: Understanding and characterizing time-correlated noise from coherent interactions can lead to improved methods for mitigating its effects, contributing to optimized device performance.

Thanks @AbdullahKazi500 I like this proposal. Do you have any particular experiment protocol you want to implement? I have something like https://arxiv.org/abs/2302.10881 in my mind, which is a variant of the HEAT experiment. I've written some code for the HEAT experiment, which could be included in the next release (up to reviewers). Then someone else can tweak the experiment to measure non-Markovian noise :)
