Hello there, I'm Knightey, one of the translations of PMoon works in Russian.
For quite some time, I was a part of the team working on a translation for Limbus Company with no hope to implement our work into the game, but sudden news of ability to do such a trick gave us more motivation to finish what we already started.
To the point...
Even though I do have the minimal knowledge of C# (I've been working on LoR mod of mine since October), I and the team I work with will surely need some assistance in making a proper localization mod for Limbus.
And thus, I ask of you: could you help us in these trying times?

Please pardon us for our delayed reply (if any). The two main developer of this mod (Bright1192 and Shamer6246) might not be able to contact with you in fluent English, so we (N071, ZengXiaoPi and HeartyYF) will be here to convey your information to these two main developers.

So first please note that this localization mod has been approved by ProjectMoon, (refer to Discussion 70) so you do not need to worry about safety issues.

The work you need to do to implement RU into Limbus Company should not be hard. I'm sure that our code is self-explinatory and modularized, and you are free to fork the repository to reuse our code. We have noted that you are having problem with the font asset, and we are sure that the font problem should not be difficult. I will personally explain your question to our main developers and see if they can help.

Should you have any questions regarding other parts of our mod, please feel free to discuss it here. You can always put your question regarding the font asset in this repository (no need to go to the font repository).

By the way, do your organization have any public account or so, for us to better understand you? We are thrilled to see people form other country to work with us, and we welcome you whole-heartedly.

Hi there! I'm the guy who is working on font stuff. So basically you will need to use Unity to generate a TextMeshPro font (a.k.a TMP font), and output your font as AssetBundle. You can easily find a guide about how to do this. If you have any further questions, feel free to ask me :)

• GUID should be just randomly generated, as an identification of an assembly.

Good news! We're making some progress, and it can be already seen!
Bad news: some of the fonts are not working even though they should have. Maybe it's lack of Cyrillic in textures for fonts...

By the way, we recommend set outline thickness to 0.15 in font material to improve readability.
As reference, I will put my settings on here:

• Raw font, just leave everything default.

• Generate settings, also leave everything default, except for font. Atlas resolution is depends on the number of characters, and Chinese have thousands of common characters, so we choose the largest one.

• Character set of our Chinese font. It contain 6k+ Chinese common characters, numbers, basic symbols, English alphabets, special symbols, and Japanese, Korean, Russian characters for some special situations. You need to include your language's characters, numbers, common symbols, and English alphabets at least, special symbols should contain arrows, star, block, ring, both solid and hollow.

• Our font is bit too large in some UIs, so we change the scale of the font.

• Font material, also leave everything default, except for outline thickness.

Like I said, you don't need to add anything else except for the font you wan to use. It will do nothing, mod will read the first asset in bundle only. So you should remove unnecessary content as much as possible.

Good news: We (almost) fixed the font problem. Actually, Mikodacs and Pretendard work as intended, the only font that doesn't want to work is BebasKai which had not Cyrillic until I made one.
Bad news: After an update like half of the UI translations stopped working and do not work even after updating files. Do I have to manually replace them and then replace Korean/English with Russian again? Because adding bits seem to not work.

Congratulations! But there is one thing you might need to change: resolution of your fonts. If you not yet noticed, the size of your fonts has reached 550MB, it just toooooo large. I checked your asset bundle, all of the main font's atlas is 8192x resolution, some of them even just have less than 10 character.
One thing you need to know: font's size is not about how many characters it contains, its size directly related to resolution. A 8192x font will have fixed 60+MB, so in your case, using resolution like this is completely overkill.
For your reference, our font's resolution is also 8192x, but it contains approximately 7000 characters, and PM's font is using 2048x. So the size you chosen is really OVERKILL lol.

The biggest problem bow is that part of translation does not work and copypasting seems to not work (At least, Announcers are still English even though I recreated the thing in Russian in the mod files)

Reading code is cool, but can you help if some curious developers are interested in debugging your code? I'm running Limbus with --melonloader.debug property by VS 2022 with the configuration from picture and get game's process exited with code 53.

If I just launch LimbusCompany.exe with the debug flag and then try to attach the process necessary .dll is not in the output list of loaded files and all breakpoints are unreachable.
Have you encountered these problems? Or do you have other advices to run code in debug mode?

So basically, what I've found: for some reason the Starter Buff button keeps using KOTRA BOLD font instead of Mikodacs, which was placed instead in the font changing code. It can be "changed" in UE, but the changes will be reverted after closing the game.

Our translation team just decided to not translate these sensitive announcement and provide them in korean only as PM did so (on our social account).
We're gonna stick to the game itself, knowing that LCB is supposed to bring laughter rather than conflict.

We are using a relatively thicker outline (compared to your first picture) with no shadow and we actually have only one single font for all the texts in game iirc.

While as I think that the mod is able to implement different fonts, we are still using a single one.

Btw Shamer6246 is the one working with fonts, so maybe he can share our settings?

Glad you asked. If ML works just fine, you don't necessarily need to.
(Or you can if you want since BepInEx might be more stable)

The transition from ML to BepInEx is a step for us to mitigate the impact of the internet blockade in CN Mainland.
FYI: CN Mainland users have difficulties accessing foreign internet services, including ML's remote API.

We found that ML contacts a remote API as a necessary step everytime it runs (and it won't start if the contact has failed), while BepInEx does not. Our modified version of BepInEx also eliminates a process that contacts remote services.

It happened after I renamed "Mikodacs Part 1 SDF" to "Mikodacs SDF" to make the other thing work. And, what's funnier, it seems only non-Koreans have this problem (abcdcode, who helped me with making a proper material shift didn't have this problem, but I and one of our beta-testers have met it). All I can do is laugh at this situation to be frank.

UPDATE: After looking through UE, I found out that for some reason half of the squared texts try to use Pretendard font asset instead of Mikodacs. That's weird.

I might not be as helpful as Bright, but I recall that major verions of BIE does not support IL2Cpp. I think we're using BepInEx Bleeding Edge Build 672, but all versions between 647-672 should do the same work.

We can't. There simply is no Unity Explorer that can be used on Limbus, as Melon Loader is no longer usable.

We too, are disappointed to find out this reality, and we don't know exactly why.

Though, there's still some questions regarding an old thing we've discussed before.
Is there a way to change font materials? I added lacking materials (Outlined ones and ones with glow) into the font bundle to create more polished look, but I cannot change the materials yet.
Can you, please, help me with the code to implement different kinds of shaders to UI text, or give me some documentation that could help me with it?
I can give you something in return, from an artwork to some compensation to Bright "for the tea"(?).

Names and nicknames are in English even though I used "krname" and "nickName" as it was before

ProjectMoon somehow just killed Unity Explorer for good.

I guess that's it for my dream of translating sprites and hardcoded text for more refined look :(

The correct reason is that it conflicts with other mod，You just need to find the conflicting mod and disable it temporarily when you want to use UE

Hello there! I'm not really with news today, more like asking for a piece of advice.
Even though I understand that you don't use this, I just wondered could we find a solution before my friend finishes with his exams.

So, basically, for some reason sometimes the materials for the fonts in dialogues like EGO and/or gacha subtitles go green, like this:

I couldn't understand just what exactly could go wrong, and after some tedious fights with Heathcliff? I think I found the reason of the green glow/underlay:

Though this leaves me in a dead end for I have no idea how to exclude this "destroyed" material from the fontSharedMaterials part of the object.
