How does this feature work on Reddit?

  • On Reddit there exists an infinite scroll feature as well as a view more expansion which does not refresh the page

Describe how this could be implemented into Libreddit

  • Simply add a feature (which is enabled by default via a setting) in javascript that implements infinite scrolling and post expansion. If javascript is disabled it would still function as-is. And the same for view more expansion.
  • I'm not sure if the back-end supports RESP APIs. If not you can simply make the javascript interpret the HTML page.

Describe alternatives you've considered

  • Using a userscript or browser extension.

Additional context / screenshot

  • I know someone will say that such a feature is bad because it requires javascript but I don't see what the issue is because if the user has javascript disabled it would still function.
  • This was already proposed in Feature Request | Infinite Scroll #108 but it was closed and forgotten.
