The new Kitsu search is great, and a feature I use on heaps of other sites is chrome's omnibox
https://developer.chrome.com/extensions/omnibox
allowing the user to search anime/mange with this would be great.

I definitely support this. Omnibox is awesome!
We'd probably need a full-page search results template for this, though. Unless we want to force people to write anime:..or something similar for deciding which site to land on if they didn't select a search result right away.

yea +1 for search results page, It could also allow refining results by more parameters which is useful in the case of where people cant remember the title.

I'm not a fan of a dedicated search page as we already have full search capability for them on their own browse page with advanced filtering.

It is possible for what the user puts into the omnibox takes the user to the most relevant page, which is what many anime sites like kissanime do

Maybe you could have a url param that just opens the search dialog with your query. Probably weird but better than nothing i guess

possible, or take the user to the kitsu dashboard and instead of using the existing search box, have a modal open with the search bar and results in.

You could also reserve the Anime and Manga keywords and have it work like this:
