Download percentage not showing

Steps to reproduce

Sometimes download percentage isn't being displayed. I don't know how to reproduce.

Expected behavior

I can monitor my download.

Actual behavior

The percentage isn't shown. That makes me and many others think that the download hasn't started even after leaving it for a long time. Which causes me to cancel. That causes problems from issue #1544
