I click on learn, move a knob, unclick learn and nothing gets mapped. Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug?

More info:

  • Operating System: Fedora 37
  • ZynAddSubFX Version: v3.0.0
  • DAW: Ardour 7.3.0

I will upgrade to the latest version (v3.0.6), but I have spoken with another user who has the same issue on that version.

from the back of my memory I would say that the learn button is not connected to the backend.
As a workaround until the button works you could hold Ctrl while changing a parameter and then turn the knob you want it assigned to.

I think this is correct. This is how it works:

  1. Click the learn button
  2. Move a zyn knob K
  3. Move a controller C
  4. Zyn will associate controll changes from C with K
  5. Repeat with (2) or click learn to stop learning

I tried this out with Voice 1's amplitude parameters (after activating the amplitude), and changing my controllers changed zyn's parameters correctly. My zyn version was the current master.

I can just say that it works.

Confirming that this also works.

@CraftyTux

  1. Can you please try it out with a current zyn and current UI?
  2. Which zyn knobs do you use, and is your controller really connected to zyn via MIDI?
  3. Does it work with the control key instead, as @friedolino78 suggested?
