Why is Wasabi Bitcoin-only?

There are so many other crypto currencies out there, including some that are very similar to Bitcoin. Why limit the use of Wasabi to only one currency?

There are countless reasons why it is the only logical choice to be bitcoin-only. With Bitcoin we have a once in a lifetime opportunity to manifest free sound money.

Writing and reviewing high quality software is a time consuming and difficult effort. Writing a private, secure and reliable Bitcoin-only wallet is already difficult enough. Adding more currencies will result in an exponentially increasing cost for writing, reviewing and especially maintaining.

There is no room for wasted time and energy, this great work requires our full attention. Any line of code written to support a random shitcoin takes away scarce developer time to work on real problems.

Further, Bitcoin work! There is no reason real problem that any other currency solves with better trade-offs than Bitcoin does. At least in my opinion, and apparently other contributors to the project share this idea.

However, Wasabi is free software, so anyone is of course free to invest their own time and money into developing a fork of Wasabi that supports an alternative currency. For example, Mustard Wallet is a fork of Wasabi fore Litecoin.
