ZFSBootMenu build source

Release EFI

ZFSBootMenu version

2.3.0

Boot environment distribution

Void Linux

Problem description

System (UEFI 64-bit Intel i5-9400F) fails to continue boot beyond the xhci-unbind teardown hook and yields just a blinking cursor after reporting on all the USB devices. Installed via script based on official install instructions which work fine on a VM. ZBM installed onto second NVMe drive; can access the management screen to make snapshots and modify kernel settings but booting with 'loglevel=9' doesn't yield any more helpful messages.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Install ZBM
  2. Boot to default environment exactly like I did in a VM.
  3. Wonder what went wrong.

You can try a different kernel series in your boot environment. Short of that, there's not enough information available to suggest a more targeted fix.

Thanks for the quick reply. I will try a different kernel - I'm not sure what other information I could offer or what else I could do to troubleshoot.

Resolved by installing the 6.5 headers and kernel prior to finishing installation. Same issue as #627
