Use statistics in politics is another hot area of interest today. We predict winnings of parties after fitting past data to appropriate models. Most times we do prediction analysis in politics but what about causal effects? What actually causes people to vote for a specific candidate? There is of course the original party-inclinance of people but people are often affected by other variables.
