What do you think about using official API for ElasticSearch (https://github.com/elastic/elasticsearch-php)?

Most likely I will use the official. Have you tried it?

Currently, no. Our project will use ElasticSearch soon with migrating on Yii2. So we can help with some testing.

At the time of the writing of this library the official elasticsearch PHP client was not in a state that made it useful for use in this extension. Will have a look on whether 2.0 is different.
