explain that templates cannot be edited in the settings dialog
explain that remove templates cannot/should not be edited because updates would overwrite them
explain how new templates can be created
explain how existing templates can be changed and deactivated
explain that the settings dialog has to be committed via OK in order to activate the templates

Or just link to an FAQ page that explains all this in detail. The link should be shown for new users via the popup.
