Support of driver bnx2x #38
Comments
Smaine Kahlouch <notifications@github.com> writes:
Hi we're currently in a process of using cilium as CNI plugin with Kubernetes.
We've seen the recent support of XDP and we wanted to tested it in our infrastructure (baremetal servers)
Unfortunately, the driver is not currently supported :
```
ethtool -i eth0
driver: bnx2x
version: 1.713.36-0 storm 7.13.11.0
```
Is there a plan to support it in a near future please ?
Not aware of any specific plans, no. I guess you could try to bug your
NIC vendor to add support; which would be Broadcom in this case? Or
maybe someone from MAINTAINERS can answer:
$ ./scripts/get_maintainer.pl drivers/net/ethernet/broadcom/bnx2x
Ariel Elior <aelior@marvell.com> (supporter:BROADCOM BNX2X 10 GIGABIT ETHERNET DRIVER)
Sudarsana Kalluru <skalluru@marvell.com> (supporter:BROADCOM BNX2X 10 GIGABIT ETHERNET DRIVER)
GR-everest-linux-l2@marvell.com (supporter:BROADCOM BNX2X 10 GIGABIT ETHERNET DRIVER)
"David S. Miller" <davem@davemloft.net> (maintainer:NETWORKING DRIVERS)
Jakub Kicinski <kuba@kernel.org> (maintainer:NETWORKING DRIVERS)
netdev@vger.kernel.org (open list:BROADCOM BNX2X 10 GIGABIT ETHERNET DRIVER)
linux-kernel@vger.kernel.org (open list)

Ok thanks for the tip @tohojo. I'll get back to you if I get an answer |
@Smana just checking if you managed to get an answer from any of the maintainers on native XDP support in bnx2x |
No I didn't. It's been a long time but if I recall correctly this is not supported at all |
