The plugin uses the image ALT attribute for the numeric value, and the TITLE attribute for the hint text. The problem is that screen readers use the ALT attribute value to read aloud, which doesn't play well with using ALT to store the numeric value. It would help with accessibility if the ALT attribute stored the hint text, and some other attribute was used to store the numeric value.

I don't think Alt attribute has any relation with numeric value
The basic use of Alt attribute is to tell what the respective image is of

If the image is of a no. 6
Then Alt will be : " The image of number 6 " and not " 6 "
