The README has a gif saying you can change TODO status and shows that happening but doesn't explain the shortcut or the command name for it:

I typed Org: in the command palette to see all the available commands and it didn't look like any of them would change TODO status of an entry:

By process of elimination and trying random commands I figured out that it's 'Increment context' and 'Decrement context' but those labels do not make sense to me. Can the README be updated to list the command names and default keyboard shortcuts of each example? Or can these commands be renamed to "Increment TODO status" and "Decrement TODO status"?

The behavior of those commands is context-dependent. For example, they are used to increment/decrement dates.
