Internal links and file links

I've just asked this question posted on StackOverflow to reach a broader audience, but still I want to make sure that the actual developer sees it, so here I go:

I wonder if it is possible to get internal links and file links integrated in this VS-Code Org-Mode extension following this example from orgmode's quickstart like so:

[[https://orgmode.org][a nice website]]
[[file:~/Pictures/dank-meme.png]]
[[earlier heading][an earlier heading in the document]]
