What makes my vscode-neovim loading so slow?

Env

os: MacOS 13.4 & Ubuntu 22.04 (both very slow)

In this video, I kept pressing jk from the reloading, but the cursor didn't start moving until after 8~9s.

Problem

Every time I start vscode or reload vscode window, it takes about 10s for neovim to start working. I can't edit any opened file at all during the loading time.

• If I disable neovim, it only takes less than 1s to start moving cursor (via arrow keys)
• It may be related to my init.vim as the loading is both slow on Ubuntu and MacOS, and I found no related issue or discussion. But I've tried renaming init.vim so that the extension won't load that file, but it still takes 8~9s. 😱

Additional tests

• Another extension Vim take about 2s to start working.

It's just vscode being slow. It enables neovim once all your vscode extensions are done loading.

So is there any way to specify the load order of extensions?

1. Set vscode-neovim.logLevel to debug
2. Reload vscode
3. Open "vscode-neovim" output
