As the reference folder is dynamically generated its contents imho should not be under version control. Maybe better to just add the folder but not its contents? E.g. as described here http://stackoverflow.com/questions/115983/how-can-i-add-an-empty-directory-to-a-git-repository

Looks good, having an explicit README is probably a good idea. Maybe nice to add a .gitignore on the generated files so that they do not show up if you run git status.
