This looks like something that was solved in pull request #516.

According to comment: "Fallback to well known avi to prevent awful extension like x-matroska;codecs=avc1,opus in the future."

But still seeing these long extensions coming from the widget using 3.7.5

UPDATE - this is in Chrome/Windows and Chrome/Linux
