CobySecondaryMonitor captures a 128x128 area of your desktop and displays it on
Coby
or other compatible DPF.

This version captures the whole screen and resizes it to 128x128. It's not very
fast,
but it's cool in a geekish way :)

The Coby DP-151SX is now on PCB revision 7 (at least) which is incompatible
with the
default spec (V5?). Distinguishing external packaging characteristics (vs V5)
are:
The OS support line on the back is "Windows 2000/XP Or Newer" (it is shorter
than the
File Format line). Barcode: 7 16829 61151 7

Attached is the original FW, and my hacked folder.

My device is listed as DP-161SX
Bus 003 Device 018: ID 1403:0001 Sitronix Digital Photo Frame
./hackfw.sh /dev/sit_sdb
Interactive script to hack the firmware of your keychain photo
player.
Expected response 8 on cmd 1, got 0x10!
Sorry, there doesn't seem to be a device using the ST2205U chipset
at /dev/sit_sdb.

I don't seem to be able to dump the firmware
./phack -df /dev/sit_sdb
No photoframe found there.

added coby.rules
KERNEL=="sd*[!0-9]", SYSFS{idVendor}=="1403", SYSFS{idProduct}=="0001",
SYMLINK+="sitronix", SUBSYSTEMS=="usb", NAME="sit_%k", MODE:="0660",
GROUP:="sitronix"

Does the tomtec has to be hacked? 'cause the program just sits there and shows
"here we
go". it 'writes' the screen, but is doesn't show up, tomtec just shows
"Updating..."
Thanx in advance...

BTW anyone knows how to compile the tetris project and put it on the tomtec. I
know c#,
my knowledge of asm is like 15 years ago (c64:), so it's like non exsisting...

I have the programs downloaded onto a Linux box and I also have marko's windows
code
on my windows box. I know a lot more about Windows than Linux so I started
there. I
get a message saying to confirm the photoframe is in update mode. Do I need to
modify
the firmware in Linux before the Windows program works?

I tried just modifying the C# code and it looks like I don't have a .dev with
the
name in it ven_Sitronix. I do have a Coby named device. When I changed the
string in
the program to match Coby the program fails when trying to flush the buffer. I
get a
unhandled exception. Any help?

I bought a DP-151SX off Amazon and it appears to be identifying itself as a
CD-ROM
drive on /dev/sr1. I've tried using "hackfw.sh /dev/sr1" but it doesn't think
that
the picture frame is plugged in there. Any suggestions?

Devices that show up as a CD-ROM drive instead of a writable drive are NOT
supported
as stated in the picframe wiki!
