List style type marker not matching the marker of the current indent level

The above image demonstrates 2 indent levels of the same list style type marker. Now if we indent "C.", from the first indent level to the second, it will automatically order to the second indent level, and marker will become "D.".

Now, in the above image we again have 2 indent levels, but of different list style type markers. Now if we indent "3.", from the first to the second level, what we observe is that instead of matching the list style type markers of the new indent level, i.e., become "D.", it maintains the marker of the previous indent level, but starts again from "1."

Just wanted to confirm if this is a bug, or an intended feature, and if an intended feature, how could I match markers to that of the existing indent level, because this is a general behaviour of indent lists.

Try to set the listStyleType to the same with the previous node.

Yes. In this case I'm not setting the listStyleType manually. Im just indenting, either by pressing "Tab" on the keyboard or using the Plate indent function.

After researching other products, I found that some applications, such as Notion, have also not considered this situation.Additional verification after each keystroke may slightly affect performance. any ideal? @zbeyens

We would need to check on indent change, so in editor.apply

@felixfeng33, just pointing out, the list marker gets updated correctly if the previous and successive indent markers are the same.

Here is a case in Word, which is the main ref we try to support for the indent plugin:

• Word has automatic styles depending on the indent, I'm not sure if we could achieve this with CSS only.
• I have modified the a. style to a)
• This does not apply on the following items

• Yes, Word does support multi level linked lists, which is a functionality that I would love to see in Plate. For your reference, Quill supports this in its latest version.
• Yes, I noticed the style doesnt update for every indent level, but how Word seems to handle it is, it ensures the marker style updates for the same indent level, within a single parent indent.
  Eg referencing the above image: For the first indent level from marker 2., all markers will be of type a), and a change to the marker there, will change all the markers for the same level, only within 2.

Sorry.This matter is more troublesome than I thought.I will try to fix it in the future, but it might be hard to estimate the time.

Currently, Plate needs to prioritize fully developing its features. The next step is to fix all the issues.
