steam ipc log file does not exist

i set up the program, did the attach game thing, put the command into steam console, but i keep getting an error message that says the steam ipc log file does not exist. i went to my steam folder to logs, and i do not have any kind of file that says anything about ipc. what file do i need to put in and what do i do if it is not there? the program seems to be working otherwise, i just get constant error messages and windows ding noises.

so i seem to have found the proper file was put into my steam log folder by the process with the steam console, but now nothing is showing up on the overlay or the program. i can see the time and steamp2pinfo - by tremwil, but nobodys steam info or connection info is displayed on the overlay or on the program itself

I encounter this same issue, when I go to Attach Game and select Elden Ring, an error dialog appears:

I solved this issue by putting the path where the file should be. Looks like the file will be automatically created even if it doesn't exists. However if your steam directory is not like the default in C you should change it. Mine was D:\Steam\logs\ipc_SteamClient.log
