Flight Termination

Is there a way with the Trackuino to initiate a flight termination? Can I use APRS to send a command to the Trackuino and then have it heat up a nichrome wire the cut the payload line? Is that command anywhere in the configuration files? I appreciate any help.

At this time the only way to terminate a flight with a Tracksoar is by pre-programming it to terminate the flight based on timing or sensor data, there is no way to initiate it remotely. However since the Tracksoar has the SPI bus available you could use a DORJI DRA818V/U to send / receive commands via 2 meter radio.

Is there a way to terminate the flight with a trackuino? The trackuino is different from the Tracksoar, isn't it?

The Tracksoar is heavily based on the Trackuino, they are roughly 90% the same electronically. The Trackuino will have the same send only as the Tracksoar.

Oh, okay, great. Thanks for the information. Would I be able to add the DORJI DRA818V/U to the trackuino as well? I have a built and working trackuino, but now I need to be able to trigger flight termination on the balloon. There is a possibility we may accidently head over restricted airspace depending on changing winds.
