The library I'm using for D-Bus access is apparently getting the DBus session bus address from X11 without providing any fallback (see GetSessionBusAddressFromX11 in the error message).

It also attempts to get the session bus address from a standardized environmental variable (DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS) which is not set on your system.

Maybe it should be obvious and that is the reason nobody seems to say it, but I simply don't get what has to be done to install it.

A step-by-step approach would be very welcome. I'll start:

1. I get here somehow and just run: git clone https://github.com/ThePBone/GalaxyBudsClient.git

2. It creates a directory with contents of Github and I move into that directory.

3. I read the first answer to this post and type the command:
   ./GalaxyBudsClient_Linux_64bit_Portable.bin

4. I get the error message:
   bash: ./GalaxyBudsClient_Linux_64bit_Portable.bin: No such file or directory

5. I start looking into the directory for a file named "GalaxyBudsClient_Linux_64bit_Portable.bin", but there are multiple directories with several files and I can't find anything.

6. I feel like it should be obvious, like I am very dumb and like that is probably the reason nobody seems to just get to the point...

So, could anyone explain it in a very very simple way like it was to a 5 years old kid or so?? I'd appreciate, thank you!

Please: step-by-step with commands provided, if possible.

Hey, you can do the following to run it on Linux:

1. Go to the release section of the repo here: https://github.com/ThePBone/GalaxyBudsClient/releases and download the latest build that supports your CPU architecture. You'll probably need the regular 64-bit version: GalaxyBudsClient_Linux_amd64_Portable.bin
2. Open a terminal in the directory with the .bin file and execute chmod +x GalaxyBudsClient_Linux_amd64_Portable.bin. This command marks the file as executable.
3. Now in the same terminal, execute ./GalaxyBudsClient_Linux_amd64_Portable.bin and the app should launch.

Unfortunately, this installation method does not create a desktop/start-menu icon, so you would need to launch the app using a terminal (or create an entry by hand).

Someone else is currently working on a flatpak package that will include a proper start-menu icon with a much easier installation process. But that isn't ready yet.
