AFAIK tildearrow still needs to update kwin-lowlatency to 5.24.
Some animations were majorly overhauled / added in kwin 5.24, so it's perhaps quite a bit of work to port this to 5.24 I guess.

According to my testing yes, the window manager will fail to start if kwin-lowlatency 5.23.5 is installed alongside Plasma 5.24. You shoud either stay on Plasma 5.23 ore swap out kwin-lowlatency for the "normal" kwin package.

I don't know, most of the time it takes a few days, sometimes it can take months.
You can try pressing ALT+SHIFT+F12 to disable compositing before starting a game, maybe that helps with your performance problems ;)

I already have compositing disabled for games, its just the direct passthrough is what I need
