Local Notifications does not show up when the app is in background

Describe the bug
Local Notifications do not show up when the app is in the background.
I tried changing the battery optimisation settings to unrestricted and then the notifications worked fine. But this is not a good solution because not every user wants to disable their battery optimisations.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behaviour:

1. Schedule the notifications for a later time let us say after 30 seconds.
2. Minimize the app.

Expected behaviour
Notification should show even if the app is minimized
