This can be fixed as a one-off with sudo systemctl restart NetworkManager but it might be better fixed in the VM by changing /lib/systemd/system/NetworkManager.service to reflect Restart=always

in the 16.04 version, it's still happening quite a lot. I haven't experienced it myself during development on the 18.04 version - but it's sporadic. I suggest Restart=always should be implemented regardless.

With the switch to 20.04 and systemd, I'm wondering if this is still an issue. I know I haven't seen it much. @philhagen thoughts?
