Additional complaints: users learning to download some exe from an unexpected domain (who is gumroad?) is a dodge pattern. I suppose you have certs or something, I don't know.
I recently found out github releases aren't reproducible builds (you can upload any exe) but apart from that it seems like a better place for people to trust.
Gumroad provides the opportunity to do a donation before download (while not an obligation).
It is a legit site for content creators doing intermediate for funds collection, permitting to make official (declared) incomes to the taxes, used for years.
Github is not more safe than any platform for distribution of exe, not even for the distribution of the source code, our reproducible environment is available at https://github.com/morevnaproject/morevna-builds
The exe are also available on Sourceforge and Fosshub.
You may still compile the source code if needed. https://www.synfig.org/ is the main domain and source for download of Synfig.
problem?
No, there's just decade-old information on the wiki that may confuse people that wander in there
solution
Lead them to https://github.com/synfig/synfig/releases
