this would mostly shame whatsapp over their stupid anti-feature of remote deletion as a whole, and particularly over the idiotic, buggy and insecure way in which it is currently implemented:

http://disq.us/p/1nimrle

of course whatsapp will fix this by validating the deletion request on the receiving client, but for now there is a wide-open bug. (or there seems to be, i haven't actually checked it myself.)

I need to see how that is implemented first before I could say anything about it.

it's obviously a local test on the originating client when popping up the delete dialog. the server can't participate, as WA uses end-to-end encryption. WA will surely fix this bug by validating the deletion on the receiving client some time later, but for now it can probably be done without any time restrictions.

@Lanchon You have available this option in my module for some time, try if it works.

@Krowne Is it in your module, right, but your module is closed source. Why I should install a tool with so high rights which isn't open? That's why you install a custom Rom without Google stuff. That's exactly why you use open source apps as far as possible and take all rights away from the apps which are closed source that you don't necessarily need or ask a question for permission.

Open it, get together with @suraj0208 and make the best tool ever.

@Perflyst I'm not going to do it, and you have my extended response in XDA.

Regarding the necessary permits, if you have questions about what a permit is for, I have no problem answering the questions in XDA, so that if someone else has doubts, they will be resolved.
