Unknown which stellar-core version has been used for test scenario generation.

I am not sure of this issue, but the only way at the moment of knowing which stellar-core version has been used for generating the test scenarios is by checking the time stamp of the horizon commit and look for a core version with a tag around the same time.

For consistency you could check-out the stellar-core version at test time, compile it and also generate the scenarios at test time instead of keeping them in the repository.
An advantage of this approach is that the compatibility of the core - horizon pair is also tested.
