why does my search box not search anything?

Probably Everything is not installed on your machine. It should be explained in the readme: https://github.com/srwi/EverythingToolbar#installation

If that does not help, maybe there are some insights in the log file located at %TEMP%/EverythingToolbar.log?

Just use EverythingToolbar.Launcher.exe to start the toolbar or its Icon
then Explorerpatcher is not involved.
Missing any info about your versions.
If it's Everything 1.5 you must disable its Alpha instance or set it in the Toolbar preferences.

I have the same issue. Everything is installed and working. Have toolbar installed and get a pop up but when I type in it, nothing happens and no search results are displayed. Get exactly same result if I just run EverythingToolbar.Launcher.exe directly from a command line (with admin).

Anything else we coudl be missing ?

I got mine working as I didn't have the correct .exe pinned to the taskbar

I went to C:\Program Files (x86)\EverythingToolbar\

And pinned EverythingToolbar.Launcher.exe to the taskbar and now it works.
