Look, if you give me money, you'll give it to me without expecting anything in return. This does NOT makes sense with the with renaissance concept of the patron. Because the patron would give money to the Artist and the Artist would make Art for the Patron. The thing is that a Patron gives me monies I will make art because I have absolutely nothing better to do.
