My name is Krisjanis Rijnieks and I was born in Riga, Latvia - a small country that is a part of the Baltic States, bordering with Belarus, Estonia, Lithuania and Russia. I have spent some time studying and working in Milan, Helsinki, Berlin and Barcelona. At the moment I am back in Helsinki to take care of the Aalto Fablab.

I am the creator and maintainer of ofxPiMapper - a projection mapping addon for openFrameworks and software that can turn your Raspberry Pi minicomputer into a media player for projection mapping projects. It started as my master's thesis at the Aalto Media Lab and still have motivation to keep the development going as there is a growing number of active users. As a Fab Academy instructor I am also contributing to many things related to fab labs and the Fab Lab Network.

The sponsorship is important for me to be able to cover expenses related to hosting, testing and deploying my projects. It is mostly important to be able to create more free time for active development and work on new features related to my main project on GitHub, which is ofxPiMapper. After years of adding features and the creation of an automatic build system capable of assembling a Raspberry Pi disk image (I used to spend weekends to build it myself), I see that it is about time for a version 2.0 and the sponsorship could help me to spend more time on drafting and building it.

This would create enough free time for me to create up-to-date testing workflows to manage the existing code base and incoming pull requests.
