Who am I?

My name is Dimitrios. Nice to meet you 😊

I have previously studied Computer Science and Electrical Engineering at Lund University in Sweden, where I've also worked as a researcher for a few years. I'm also an aviator and flight instructor. In 2020 I quit my previous job at Ericsson, where I worked as a system designer for 5G base stations. My goal is to make a living writing my own software.

What am I working on?

I'm mainly interested in developing software tools for pilots and aviators. Here are a few of the projects I have worked on so far:

• CryoCharts is an Android app for exploring the European airspace where an Internet connection is available.

• Avtest is a tool for helping pilots with psychometric test practice before taking similar tests during an airline recruitment process.

• Open Flightmaps is a project with the mission of developing and maintaining a universal database of aeronautical data. I have worked on acquiring and maintaining the data for Greece and Sweden.

• AIP Parser is a tool for automatically acquiring aeronautical obstacle data and conforming it to the Open Flightmaps OFMX file format.
