I'm currently taking a break from paid employment to work on open source Rust projects. How long I can continue this will depend on how much sponsorship I can get.

The primary thing I'm currently working on is Rust warm build times. I'm starting by writing an incremental linker in Rust, since even with a fast linker like Mold, linking is still often the largest chunk of time during a warm build.

In addition to warm build times, I'm continuing to support my main pre-existing open source projects:

  • Evcxr, a REPL and Jupyter kernel for Rust
  • Cackle, a code ACL checker for Rust.

I haven't set a minimum (or perhaps it's $1). This is to give people more flexibility - e.g. if they've got a budget for their open source sponsorships and would like to spread it around many different people/projects. If you (or better yet, your company) would like to sponsor the work I'm doing, that would be awesome.
