Coding Grace is an Irish not-for-profit who runs diversity-friendly coding workshops and events as well as supporting and collaborating with other community user groups.

Who am I?

  • My name is Vicky Twomey-Lee, co-Founder of Coding Grace, and I am based in Dublin, Ireland.
  • At the moment myself and the Coding Grace directors are planning how we can provide more meaningful support to the community in this extraordinary time, Covid-19 has affected many people and activities.
  • Currently I still publish monthly newsletter of curated Irish tech events and conferences as well as collating diversity in tech events from around Ireland. Opportunities, announcements, and other shout outs are also included.
  • I also keep a live blog post of current Irish Tech events as many has gone virtual due to current situation with Covid-19.

Why is your support important?

  • 🌈 Administration, mentoring and promoting our activities as well as newsletter and live blog of events are all done voluntarily as we are a not-for-profit.
  • 🧾 As we are a registered company, we still have to pay fees like business bank charges and accountant's fees (they do the books for our financial year end and handle any other revenue-related enquiries). The latter is not cheap.
  • 🤲 By supporting us, we can also support other local tech community groups, especially those who don't have a bank account.

Thank you for your time and we appreciate your interest if you wish to support our initiative.

@codinggrace

It would be great to be able to get sponsorship to at least cover (even most of) our accountancy fees at the end of the year.

30cm of wire (11.8 inches) - the distance that light travels in one nanosecond. A huge thanks for your contribute, we really appreciate it. If you haven't checked out Grace Hopper's explanation of why satellite communications takes so long with the use of a wire as a visual aid. Fun fact, later years, she used packets of pepper where each grain represents a picosecond.
