When you use the Save 💾 icon to save the report, the formatting is lost.
When you use the Print 🖨️ icon to print the report to a PDF, the formatting is preserved.

This is in the newmexico database in Specify 6.8.03.

Hi, I’m generating reports for the end of each aisle using a query from the storage tree. I’ve used a conditional style to bold some items in the report. They display just fine (see below left) but when I save the report as a pdf the bolding is missing.

When I print directly from the Specify interface (without saving as PDF first) the bolding prints properly but the left edge is cut off by my printer, and using the ‘scale to fit’ option in the print dialogue doesn’t fix the issue – so saving is looking like my only choice to get a decent report.
