It appears to be 60 seconds, but the document (or the error message) don't say sub-minute values aren't acceptable.

sfcli logging setloginsessioninfo --timeout 00:00:30
ERROR:element.cli.cli: timeout=[30]

One minute seems short enough, only the message or doc needs a clarification.

The requested documentation enhancement has been added and will appear in all our downstream products, including the CLI, the SDKs, etc. Thanks for the tip!
