Elemental adds some friction to the normal editing process, rather than just being able to instantly start adding their content to a new page, editors have to:

  1. Click the Add Block button
  2. Select a block type
  3. Click on the newly created block to edit

To improve on this, can I suggest that newly added blocks are automatically opened for editing? Thus removing "step 3".

I appreciate that some editors may add all their desired blocks to the page first, and then add the content to them, so it would need to be a setting (by site/user), but I wouldn't be surprised if the next task most users want to do after adding a block, is to add it's content.

(If I had more React experience, I would attempt a PR.)
