Dear showmewebcam developers,

I belong to a behavioral neuroscience research lab specializing in alcohol use disorder and showmewebcam has been absolutely essential to our day-to-day research (recording animal behaviors in various conditions). So we would like to let you all know how much we appreciate this project and your hard work!

And we recently published a paper introducing showmewebcam and Raspberry Pi computers to the broader neuroscience community, as we believe that they could be an essential research toolkit for the field.

However, since RPi4B hardware revision 1.5 happened, we and others have encountered the hardware compatibility issue described in #196 and #202, which has posed some obstacles to our research. We are curious about the timeline of the firmware update and how soon we can be expecting the next release.

Again, thank you, for the good work!

This looks very interesting, thanks for sharing! :)

Unfortunately our time is a little short at the moment as you can see in the little progress over the past months in #197. But we would be very happy to review and accept any changes that tackle support for the Pi 2, RPi4B hardware revision 1.5 and support for libcamera.

Thanks!

is there any update on the issue with RPi4B revision 1.5? We are anxiously waiting for a resolution. Thanks!
