I followed the instructions, rebuild the cache and even tried a reboot, but the new emojis just won't be used by my Ubuntu PC. I still see the old, ugly ones.

I'm on Ubuntu 22.04.03.

I checked and I only have AppleColorEmoji.ttf in ~/.local/share/fonts/ so there shouldn't be any conflicts with different fonts.

Hi @Arche151, could you try this and see if that fixes it?

@Arche151 could you then try a system-wide installation placing the font at /usr/local/share/fonts or /usr/share/fonts?
