I'm not much of a burger fan, but I absolutely love sushi... and even though I'm a frontender with no Ruby experience, I very much really admire the sense of community I experienced at Arrrrcamp.

So I'm wondering... if there are any Sushi lovers in the Ruby community interested in doing Ruby Sushi gatherings in Belgium, preferably the area of Leuven and Brussel? Why not offer sushi lovers the same sense of community burger lovers are already getting today?

Just my two cents ;-)

Super nice idea, the concept is about food in fact, if you look in Liege, it’s ruby boulets:)

Nice two cents;)

What do you think about organising a first Ruby Sushi event in Leuven, some time in Q1 of 2014?

I would recommend any of the following restaurants :

  • Inari Sushi Bar ( http://inarisushibar.be/ ) : the best Sushi bar in Leuven, but typically very crowded due to its huge success. Personnel is professional, but often too overworked to be able to crack a smile.
  • Wabi Sabi Sushi Bar ( http://wabisabisushi.be/ ) : less crowded than the Inari, but almost the same quality standards for their sushi. They're still quite new, though, resulting in pretty clumsy and somewhat unprofessional service.
  • Sushi Palace Leuven ( http://www.sushipalace.be/website/leuven/ndl/ ) : their Sushi is not as good as that of the Inari or Wabi Sabi, but they're by far the best Sushi restaurant in Leuven that delivers via Just-Eat. I haven't been to the restaurant to eat there, though, so I don't really know how crowded it is nor how professional the staff is.

If we can keep the group under 10 people, I would definitely opt for the Inari due to the professional service and high quality sushi. For larger groups, I would go for one of the two other options, as the Inari would feel pretty claustrophobic for groups over 10 people.
