MPI_File support

Any chance of getting a proper Rust API for MPI file operations any time soon? What are the challenges in implementing such an API?

Are you interested in independent or collective IO? Maybe we can sketch some use cases/intended trait implementations in this thread to get a better idea of what's needed. It would be useful to look at Rust's hdf5 as related work since there are common concepts (and HDF5 can use HPI-IO under the hood).
