What happened?

I'm using Better BibTeX to export .bib files, with my citation key formula set as "auth.lower + year + shorttitle(1,1)". However, despite having both "Force citation key to plain text" and "Ideographs in citekeys" options disabled, the shorttitle part of the citation keys consistently gets pinyinized.

I've updated the docs; it's a side effect from adding the 2nd parameter in shorttitle(1,1) -- the 2nd one says "capitalize the first word", and since capitalization isn't really meaningful (to my very limited knowledge) for CJK, BBT assumes you want it romanized first. It's mostly a leftover from when I copied the JabRef formatters -- I wouldn't add capitalization now to a function when a filter can do the job and give you more options.

Thank you for your quick reply.
I changed the second parameter from 1 to 0, and it resolved the issue.

You can just omit it, the default is 0
