Resizable annotations

The goal would be to have drag handles at the start and end of a selection highlight, and dragging with the mouse would shrink or expand the selection over the text.

I frankly have no idea how to approach that from a technical lelvel. (I doubt it's possible without investing major effort. But maybe there are tricks I'm not ware of.)

If anyone has ideas on how to do it: do drop them below :-)
