The worst part is that the lyrics they sell are mostly added by volunteers.

Let's wait for the official statement. But if the lyrics are indeed no longer available for free, what are our options?

1. Find a way to keep scraping lyrics with a free account (very unlikely).
2. Find a premium account. Honestly, I WOULD even pay for one, but they just won't take my money ¯\(ツ)/¯
3. Migrate to another lyrics source. lrclib.net looks promising, and that's what my friends use at Harmonoid.

Solution-wise I think option 3 is the most long-term feasible option.
