This list is supper useful, but I think it would be even more so if it gives an indication what projects are already backed commercially. I.e. some of the OSS projects are commercially supported, such as all the ones from the QC hardware vendors. I think it would be useful to indicate this.

Certainly any high quality non-commercial QC project may become big enough to attract commercial support, but a project, for instance like Cirq, initiated by Google, will have this support early on.

I'm not sure if this is something that should be actively promoted since it demotes all the other projects. I believe all projects deserve equal attention and just because something is commercially supported doesn't necessarily imply that it's good. Can you elaborate why you believe this would be a value-add?

There are two aspects to it:

  1. Some companies may want to start offering support for high quality Open Source projects if no such support is yet available.
  2. Commercially supported projects are usually less likely to become abandoned, which is an important consideration when building on top of an Open Source software stack.
