QGIS Server with Mapproxy documentation #53522
Comments
This repository if for bugs in the code, for documentation we have https://github.com/qgis/QGIS-Documentation/ In my opinion this is not something we should put in the documentation anyway, it is not directly related to QGIS. |
Hello Derek,
I haven't managed to get mapproxy to install on the server of my choice.
The main installer seems to place it on port '8080' but the QWC2 demo app
works on '8088' then there is the question of whether mapproxy is able to
'tile' an external WMS or is it just tif files. I think the real issue (for
me) is the frustratingly slow performance of QGIS Server reading the QGIS
project file. I wish the devs could sort that out.

@shapley <https://github.com/shapley> did you ever find anything on this?
There's a small section in the docs here
<https://docs.qgis.org/3.34/en/docs/server_manual/getting_started.html#integration-with-mapproxy>
but unfortunately it doesn't go into detail. I agree it would be nice, as
QGIS server can be slow/not very usable without some tile caching
integration.

@shapley , in Mapproxy documentation the chapter "Deployment" describes how to integrate Mapproxy with Apache: |
Feature description
I would love to have a complete guide to using QGIS Server with Mapproxy. There are some docker images out there for using it with Nginx but not Apache2 for example. How would you configure the two?
Additional context
I have used Mapproxy demo but would like to see a guide to setting up Mapproxy and QGIS Server together.
